Abstract
Dissertação para obtenção do grau de Mestre no Instituto Superior de Ciências da Saúde Egas Moniz A dislipidémia caracteriza-se pelos anormais níveis lipídicos no sangue, e constitui um dos principais factores de risco que conduzem às Doenças Cardiovasculares, uma das principais causas de morte a nível mundial. Apesar da eficácia das opções farmacológicas existentes para o tratamento das dislipidémias, as reacções adversas e contra-indicações associadas a estes fármacos fazem com que seja essencial a existência de opções não-farmacológicas capazes de ultrapassar estas adversidades.
