Stem cells for cardiac cell therapy

Abstract
La enfermedad cardiovascular, y su frecuente resultado final, el fallo cardíaco del ventrículo izquierdo, son la principal causa de morbimortalidad en los países desarrollados. La investigación con células madre podría regenerar una variedad de células que incluye a los cardiomiocitos. Se han utilizado diferentes fuentes celulares para la terapia regenerativa cardíaca, incluyendo células madre cardíacas, mioblastos de músculo esquelético, células madre derivadas de la médula ósea, células madre mesenquimales, células madre embrionarias y células madre pluripotenciales inducidas.
