Drystone structures have been widely used throughout the UK and other parts of the world for hundreds of years. Many of these structures are still in use today with many of the existing drystone structures within the UK being over 100 years old.<br/><br/>Drystone construction techniques have formed over the years to make best use of stone properties, enabling these structures to resist the loadings upon them. Typical construction styles can often be attributed to certain types of stone, each with their own characteristics.
