Thesis (PhD)--University of South Australia, 2010 Many organisations have focussed on employing attractive people including models and celebrities to represent their brand or product, with the assumption that attractive people are more effective sellers and more persuasive communicators than less attractive people. However, attractiveness may also be a potential liability. Attractive endorsers may detract attention from the product if there is not a clear link or 'match-up' between the product and endorser.
