4MOST vaatlusprogrammi tunnuste tihedusfunktsioonide taastamine vaatlusandmetelt

Abstract

4MOST (4-metre Multi-Object Spectroscopic Telescope) on multifiibriline spektroskoopiline uuringuseade, mis on võimeline vaatlema tuhandeid astronoomilisi objekte samaaegselt. 4MOST-i abil plaanitakse vaadelda suur osa lõunataevast selle esimeste tööaastate jooksul. Vaatlusandmete statistilises analüüsis on oluline teada huvipakkuvate tunnuste jaotust, kuid vaatluste käigus ei vaadelda enamasti kõiki sihtkataloogis olevaid objekte. Seetõttu ei kirjelda vaatlusandmete pealt saadud pideva tunnuse tihedusfunktsiooni hinnang kõigi kataloogis olevate objektide vastava tunnuse tihedust, vaid ainult konkreetsete vaatlusandmete oma. Veelgi enam, vaatlus-simulatsioonidest tuletatud objekti edukalt vaatlemise tõenäosused on nihkega. Bakalaureusetöö eesmärgiks on taastada valitud tunnuste tihedusfunktsioonid simuleeritud vaatlusandmetelt. See saavutatakse korrigeerides esmalt objektide edukalt vaatlemise tõenäosused, misjärel taastatakse valitud tunnuste tihedusfunktsioonid kaalutud tuumameetodi abil kasutades korrigeeritud tõenäosuseid.
