Self-Improving CNC Milling Machine

Abstract
This thesis is a study of the ability of a CNC milling machine to create parts for itself, and an evaluation of whether or not the machine is able to improve itself by creating new machine parts. This will be explored by using off-the-shelf parts to build an initial machine, using 3D printing/rapid prototyping to create any special parts needed for the initial build. After an initial working machine is completed, the design of the machine parts will be adjusted so that the machine can start producing its own machine parts, replacing the 3D printed parts.
