Anti-interleukin-13, a Monoclonal Antibody, in Uncontrolled Asthma: Systematic Review and Meta-analysis

The overall efficacy and safety of anti-interleukin (IL)-13 therapies remain to be fully characterized. We conducted a meta-analysis of randomized controlled trials (RCTs) on the efficacy and safety of anti-IL-13 therapies compared with placebo in patients with uncontrolled asthma. This meta-analysis complied with the Preferred Reporting Items for Systematic Reviews and Meta-Analyses (PRISMA) guidelines. The primary efficacy outcome was pulmonary function, and the primary safety outcome was the incidence rate of all adverse events (AAEs).
