There are two kinds of electromagnetic propulsion ships : a superconductive electromagnetic propulsion ship and a superconductive electricity propulsion ship. A superconductive electromagnetic propulsion ship uses the electromagnetic force (Lorenz force) by the interaction between a magnetic field and a electric current. On the other hand, a superconductive electricity propulsion ship uses screws driven by a superconductive motor. A superconductive propulsion ship technique has the merits of excellent navigation-ability and a degree of freedom of the equipment arrangement. A test set for studying the characteristic of a superconductive electromagnetic propulsion was constructed. In this report, the principles of the superconductive electromagnetic propulsion ship is described. The test set for MHD propulsion and the results of the experiments are described. A modified convection flow of water by MHD forces was observed.
