This article reports on a classroom listening study. This study tested the success of lab-based studies that improved the acquisition of difficult nonnative phonemic categories. Two research questions were asked: 1) To what extent can the success of lab-based perceptual training studies be replicated in an EFL classroom? 2) How will students react to the training? This study concluded that phoneme acquisition training can be effective in an EFL classroom and that the students' responses to such training was positive. 研究ノート Departmental Bulletin Paper application/pdf
