Morfologija mješavina polipropilena

Abstract

Polipropilen (PP) je plastomer s najvećim proizvodnim rastom među poliefinima zbog velikog broja vrsta i izuzetnih svojstava (lake preradljivosti, primjenskih svojstava i ekonomičnosti) koja se mogu modificirati miješanjem s drugim polimerima. Zbog slabe žilavosti kod niskih temperatura, izotaktnom polipropilenu (iPP) se dodaje elastomer kao modifikator žilavosti. Nemješljive polimerne mješavine, npr. izotaktni polipropilen/ataktni polistiren (iPP/aPS), kompatibiliziraju se s blok ili cijepljenim kopolimerima. Zato je odnos struktura-svojstva u iPP/aPS mješavinama studiran s dodavanjem stirenskih blok kopolimera (SBS, SEP, SEBS, SEBS-g-MA) kao kompatibilizatora i istodobno modifikatora žilavosti. Analiza rezultata rendgenske difrakcije i mikroskopskih ispitivanja (optička mikroskopija, SEM, TEM) pokazala je kako se primješavanjem drugih komponenti mijenja fazna i nadmolekulna struktura iPP matrice, te binarnih i ternarnih iPP mješavina. Međufazni su slojevi stirenskih blok kopolimera očituju različito kompatibilizacijsko i strukturirajuće djelovanje značajno mijenjajući morfologiju iPP matrice i dispergirane faze. Utvrđen je empirijski kriterij za određivanje granica među različitim morfologijama koje utječu na konačna mehanička svojstva.
