L’enseignement de la traduction technique à l’heure de la post-édition

Abstract

Dans le présent article, nous cherchons à établir dans quelle mesure il y a lieu de modifier le contenu des cours de traduction technique en raison des progrès fulgurants des outils d’aide à la traduction. À cet effet, nous présentons les résultats d’une modeste «enquête de proximité» sur les besoins actuels de formation, menée auprès de 14 traductrices et de traducteurs techniques de notre entourage, puis nous livrons à une analyse des interventions jugées nécessaires dans un contexte de postédition, en nous fondant sur un corpus de textes dont la traduction nous a été confiée par l’Organisation météorologique mondiale au cours des trois dernières années. Cette analyse personnelle (fondée sur un processus d’auto-observation) nous permet d’inférer les compétences à l’origine de ces interventions, puis de mener une réflexion sur la manière dont il conviendrait de tenir compte de ces compétences dans l’enseignement de la traduction technique.
