La vivienda tradicional en la región de Iberá desde un enfoque etnobotánico: aportes a la conservación biocultural

Abstract

En la región de Iberá se ubican viviendas que son autoconstruidas con vegetales que se encuentran circundantes a la misma, y que son diseñadas según los modos de vida de sus habitantes, y en plena reciprocidad con el ambiente. En este contexto nos propusimos estudiar la vivienda ibereña desde un enfoque etnobotánico y en el marco de la conservación biocultural. Para ello indagamos acerca de la localización, composición, construcción, diseño, entre otras características, así como también las perspectivas futuras y las implicancias de su construcción en el sitio de estudio. La metodología combinó técnicas etnográficas, junto a técnicas etnobotánicas. Se visitaron 34 viviendas, en las que participaron un total de 68 personas, se realizaron croquis y se coleccionaron los ejemplares vegetales testigos. Los resultados arrojaron que la vivienda ibereña se caracterizó por ser una edificación sencilla, compuesta mayoritariamente de vegetales que pertenecen al ambiente, y con la función simplemente de almacenar y pernoctar. No obstante, se destacó como una unidad de conservación biocultural para la región Iberá a todo el complejo habitacional ubicado en un sitio puntual del asentamiento donde se localiza la comunidad, el cual incluye la edificación material de la vivienda, el sistema agroforestal que la rodea, y los conocimientos asociados.
