The article considers the application of a systematic approach to contemporary musical culture. The novelty of the work lies in the combination of activity and axiological understanding of culture. The author’s concept of the system of contemporary musical culture, the core of which are values, is proposed. The author comes to the conclusion that the system of mass musical culture and academic musical culture is similar in its composition. The differences between them lie in the importance of elements in the system, which directly depend on the values underlying a particular musical culture.
