Pitiriasis Palpebral: Tratamiento y Manejo

Abstract

Pitiriasis palpebral es una ectoparasitosis de las pestañas debida a una infestación por Pthirus pubis. Se presenta el caso de un paciente masculino de 63 años con Pitiriasis palpebral, quien acude a este centro por historia de ojo rojo y picazón de ojo izquierdo de 6 meses de evolución. Se indica tratamiento médico tópico y por vía oral, paciente con buena evolución posterior a tratamiento inicial, sin embargo se continúa el tratamiento por 2 ciclos más hasta la resolución completa de la infección. Los casos de Pitiriasis palpebral no son muy raros, sin embargo, no son motivo de consulta frecuente, por lo que no se diagnostica oportunamente. El objetivo de presentar este reporte de caso es evidenciar las diversas terapias médicas que existen en la literatura y exponer la respuesta clínica a la terapia indicada en este paciente en particular.
