Juntos, pero no revueltos: actitudes diversas del gran empresariado y de las PYMES frente al cambio de la Constitución en Chile (2018-2022)

Abstract

La visión imperante del empresariado chileno es la de un grupo homogéneo, que le permitiría presentarse públicamente con un proyecto unificado, coherente y superior para el conjunto del país. Justamente, esta voluntad común se habría manifestado en el rechazo a los dos últimos acontecimientos más significativos de la historia política chilena reciente: el estallido social de 2019 y la Convención Constitucional durante 2022. Pero una mirada más plural y compleja del empresariado que también contempla al mundo de las pequeñas y medianas empresas ofrece otro panorama. El presente artículo examina la diversidad al interior del empresariado chileno, a través de un análisis de su origen y composición social y de sus posturas políticas frente al proceso de cambio constitucional. Para ello, a partir de una investigación cualitativa longitudinal que consistió en cuatro oleadas de entrevistas a dirigentes empresariales entre 2018 y 2022, se presentan las diversas actitudes que fue mostrando este agente social ante el proceso de redacción de la nueva Constitución. Los resultados dan cuenta de una ambivalencia entre una mayor heterogeneidad social y actitudinal al interior del sector y una prevaleciente homogeneidad como actor político o élite, cuestión que requiere de mayores investigaciones para su explicación.
