Lanthanide phosphonates with pseudo-D5h local symmetry exhibiting magnetic and luminescence bifunctional properties

Abstract

Layered lanthanide(iii) phosphonates [Ln(notpH4)(H2O)]ClO4·3H2O [Ln = Dy(1), Ho(2)] in which the lanthanide ion has a pseudo-D5h symmetry show field-induced slow relaxation at low temperatures as well as luminescence properties.
