El desafío ético de las emociones en la educación: sentido, compromiso y responsabilidad

Abstract

Desde hace unas décadas el sistema educativo ha buscado ajustarse a las exigencias pedagógicas demandadas por la sociedad y el mercado laboral mediante el discurso del talento y de las capacidades. En este sentido, las emociones cobran una especial relevancia si se hace referencia a su implicación en el proceso educativo y en la formación y profesión docente. Como objetivo principal, este artículo propone, desde una perspectiva teórica y crítica, conocer el papel que desempeñan las emociones en los procesos y prácticas pedagógicas, con especial atención a los entornos de pobreza educativa. Conocer la evolución de las emociones a lo largo de estas décadas y su instrumentalización en la escuela global, permite analizar las representaciones socioemocionales del profesorado, sus implicaciones en las oportunidades de logro del alumnado y los nuevos horizontes que se quieren alcanzar. El hecho de que en los últimos años las emociones se hayan convertido en una competencia fundamental para docentes y alumnado, vaticina que el interés por ellas no solo reside en el entorno educativo; las políticas educativas y los organismos mundiales han mostrado una gran admiración por su incorporación en los sistemas educativos desde edades tempranas. Es por ello que, plantear el sentido que ciertas disciplinas proyectan en la enseñanza de las emociones, contribuye con la necesidad de situar a la comunidad educativa como defensora del bien común y de la justicia social. Todo ello, bajo un deber ético y profesional con la infancia.
