<jats:title>Abstract</jats:title> <jats:p><jats:bold>INTRODUCTION:</jats:bold> Chronic periodontitis is defined as an inflammatory disease of the supporting tissues of teeth caused by microorganisms in the dental biofilm, resulting in progressive destruction of the periodontal ligament and alveolar bone with pocket formation and gingival recession.
