Glucemia y lipemia en escolares con obesidad en el distrito metropolitano de Quito, Ecuador

Abstract
Obesity is an epidemic problem in the world and is present from an early age. The objective was to analyze the variability of excess weight, glucose, triglycerides, total cholesterol, LDL and HDL in obese students. 276 school children, 9 to 16 years of municipal educational units of the Metropolitan District of Quito, cohort 2010-2011, whom blood measurement was performed after fasting for eight hours. The risk categorization was based on the American Diabetes Association and the National Cholesterol Education Program.
