Abstract

O retorno da democracia direta é objeto do debate político mundial. A repulsa da população pela política e pelas atuais formas de democracia representativa traz a reflexão sobre novas formas de participação em especial no que tange à destinação das verbas públicas. Utilizando o exemplo de Porto Alegre no que concerne aos orçamentos participativos, busca-se nesse estudo ressaltar a necessidade de resgatar a democracia direta participativa, de maneira que os administradores passem a estar mais atentos aos problemas da comunidade.PALAVRAS-CHAVE: Retorno da Democracia Direta. Repulsa. Orçamentos participativos. Participação popular. Democracia.ABSTRACT: The return of direct democracy is the object of political debate worldwide. The repulsion of the population policy and the current forms of representative democracy brings the debate on new forms of participation in particular with regard to the allocation of public funds. Using the example of Porto Alegre in terms of participatory budgets, this study seeks to emphasize the need to rescue a direct participatory democracy, so that the administrators will be more attentive to the problems of the community.KEYWORDS: Return of direct democracy.
