Abstract
The hospitality industry needs from time to time to renovate its installations. There is no better moment for a marketing repositioning. This paper presents an exploratory study on how the boutique hotel concept is understood by researchers from different countries. Due to independent hotels agility in implementing innovations, it was considered the possibility of part of this segment adopting the boutique model to improve competitiveness against hotel chains.
