Opinia publiczna i polityka naukowa w społeczeństwie wiedzy

Abstract

Efektywność gospodarki opartej na wiedzy, działanie społeczeństwa wiedzy zależy od polityki odnoszącej się do tworzenia i obiegu wiedzy. Te zaś są w pewnym stopniu uzależnione od debaty i opinii publicznej. Autor rozpatruje związki między debatą i opinią publiczną a tworzeniem polityki. Formułuje hipotezę, że nadal silnie ugruntowane wyobrażenia o nauce, w których bardziej się ceni badania podstawowe niż stosowane, gloryfikuje samostanowienie i autonomię instytucji oraz ludzi tworzących naukę, a rozwojowi nauki przyznaje jednoznacznie pozytywny charakter - nie odpowiadają potrzebom społeczeństwa wiedzy.
