Pandemia en Ecuador y Colombia

Abstract

En Ecuador y Colombia el 2020 quedará registrado como el año de la pandemia pero también como el de la corrupción originada en algunas actuaciones de los gobiernos de turno. Es lo que se ve reflejado en la agenda mediática que pasó de los titulares de las muertes por la COVID-19 a los escándalos relacionados con la contratación irregular de insumos y alimentos. La presente investigación analizó los cambios en la agenda informativa de los periódicos: El Comercio y Expreso, de Ecuador, y El Tiempo y El País, de Colombia, entre los meses de mayo, junio y julio del 2020. El análisis reveló el protagonismo de los organismos de control en la prensa nacional y poca ampliación de casos locales de corrupción en la prensa regional. Además, se reflejó el desistir de la prensa para realizar investigaciones por su cuenta a pesar de existir evidencias y datos sobre el fenómeno en ambos países.
