Abstract

Penelitian yang dilakukan terhadap contoh uji sortimen gergajian kayu jati yang warnanya kurang baik dan cacat dengan perlakuan ekstraksi masing-masing dalam pelarut etanol, campuran etanol dan benzen 1 :2 dan aseton serta perlakuan waktu ekatraksi 0,5 sampai 2 jam dengan selang 0.5 jam menunjukkan bahwa cacat warna menjadi berkurang dengan ditandai meningkatnya warna kayu tersebut. Contoh uji mutu P, D , T dan yang mengandung cacar alut minyak dan alur hitam pada P. Cacat doreng pada D, kemerahan. "crowm “ dan kebiruan dapat meningkat warnanya setaraf dengan wama mutu U yang mulus dan merata. Hilangnya cacat alur minyak dan alur hitam diperoleh dari perlakuan ekstraksi dalam etanol benzena 1: 2 waktu 1 jam serta aseton waktu 2 jam. Untuk cacat doreng dari aseton 2 jam, cacat kemarahan dari etanol dan aseton selama 0,5 jam. cacat "crown dari etanol 1 jam dan kebiruan dari etanol benzena 1 :2 selama 0.5 jam
