An Analysis the Place of the Journal of Turkish Librarianship Among the Academic Journals Publishing in Turkey

Abstract

The main subject of this study is to find out the place and importance of the Jo­urnal of Turkish Librarianship among the academic journals publishing in Tur­key. The study was prepared by depending on the data obtained through the Re­search of Academic Journals Publishing in Turkey in 1997 and 1998. The study contains three headings; ‘general issues”, “review process of manuscripts and ‘publication of manuscripts . On the other hand, in order to put forward changes in the Journal ö/Turkish Librarianship, the data related to the years of 1997 and 1998 were compared with the data of 2002. As a conclusion in the study, it was found that the Journal o/Turkish Librarianship has a better position comparing with other journals publishing in Turkey.
