Abstract

Foi determinada a curva de seletividade das redes de emalhar utilizadas na captura do tambiú, Astyanax bimaculatus, na Represa de Ibitinga, Rio Tietê, Estado de São Paulo, Brasil, segundo Gulland (1969), resultando: c* (L) = e - 0,5207 (L-1,3478 m)2 Em que: c* (L) = frequência relativa de retenção L = comprimento total do peixe m = perí­­metro interno de malha da rede. O intervalo de seleção para diferentes perí­­metros de malha resultou nos seguintes valores: Lm = L médio - 1,15 (cm) e LM = L médio + 1,15 (cm). Foram também determinadas as seguintes relações: - Peso total / comprimento total: W = 0,0184 L 2,9685, em que W = peso total do peixe (g) e L = comprimento total (cm) - Perí­­metro / comprimento total: l = 0,8299 L (cm), sendo l o maior perí­­metro do peixe (cm) - Comprimentos (e pesos) médios, mí­­nimos e máximos / perí­­metro interno das malhas das redes. Conhecido o comprimento de primeira maturação das fêmeas (Lpm = 8,43 cm) no reservatório, recomenda-se o uso de redes com malhas de perí­­metro interno maior que 6,3 cm.
