The study objective is to demonstrate how simulation can be viable to illustrate a proposal for improvement before its implementation, assisting the decision-making. As a tool for simulation it was used the academic version of the software Arena, where some resources are limited. Our study includes a situation in the export process of fruits in an air cargo terminal, which was observed from a real scenario, but adapted to a fictitious scenario of time and variety / quantity of cargo. Even in this scenario, it was possible to illustrate and analyze clearly the levels of utilization of the resources involved, concluding that it is possible to simulate various situations and present different proposals. Knowing that the closer the model reach the reality, the more viable the proposed improvements can be and the more reliable the decision making based on simulated models will be.
