Resumen de la temporada invernal 2018-2019 en las provincias de Artemisa y Mayabeque

Abstract

En la investigación se realiza un análisis de la temporada invernal 2018-2019, haciendo énfasis en la distribución mensual de los frentes fríos, intensidad y la ocurrencia de tiempo severo, además se identificaron las situaciones sinópticas más significativas durante el período y se realizó un análisis particular a las bajas extratropicales del mes de diciembre y enero, donde la amplia circulación de estos sistemas afectó ambos territorios. Para realizar la investigación se utilizaron los resúmenes del paso de los frentes fríos, observaciones y gráficos de las estaciones meteorológicas. Después de analizar la información disponibles se obtuvo que 17 frentes fríos entraron a la provincia, valor que está cercana a la media que son 19 frentes (González, 1999), el mes de mayor frecuencia fue enero con 5 y las situaciones sinópticas más significativas ocurrieron el 20 de diciembre y 27 de enero donde se reportaron vientos fuertes, inundaciones costeras en la costa sur de las provincias y lluvias fuertes.
