Factores de riesgo de enfermedad arterial

Abstract

Los factores de riesgo de la enfermedad arterial (FREA) anticipan un daño futuro a ese sistema del cuerpo humano. La detección de los mismos constituye hoy ci hito indispensable para el diagnóstico y las estrategias preventivas y aún curativas. Por largo tiempo se consideraron a los factores que se originaron como consecuencia de los grandes estudios al promediar el siglo pasado y que tienen vigencia actual. Una simple clasificación los rotuló como tradicionales. Investigaciones posteriores fueron describiendo otros ( nuevos o emergentes) que se agruparon dadas sus acciones: factores de coagulación, psicosociales, inflamatorios infecciones. Una reciente clasificación, teniendo en cuenta el tipo de impacto, los dividió en causales, predisponentes y condicionales. También se describió un mecanismo, el poder oxidativo con acción sobre el endotclio, en el último tramo del proceso. Ya anteriormente había sido descripto otro mecanismo, la Insulinorresistencia y el hiperinsulinismo que dieron las bases del Síndrome Metabólico que incluye varios factores de riesgo tradicionales.
