Abstract

A sinalização tátil no piso representa uma das formas de garantir o direito de ir e vir com independência das pessoas com deficiência visual, visando indicar caminhos preferenciais e seguros de circulação, assim como alertar para perigos potenciais. A norma brasileira NBR 16.537 (ABNT, 2016) de sinalização tátil no piso passou por revisão através de reuniões oficiais abertas de 2021 a 2022 conduzidas pela Associação Brasileira de Normas Técnicas (ABNT) com interessados em participar do processo de discussão dos itens que apresentavam problemas de usabilidade, aplicação prática e/ou exigiam melhor definição. Este artigo busca exemplificar as principais recomendações encaminhadas pela pesquisadora durante o processo de revisão da normativa, a partir do protagonismo dos próprios usuários: pessoas com cegueira, através dos resultados de pesquisa que aplicou os instrumentos Passeio Acompanhado e discussões em Grupo Focal, para que as sugestões à normativa pudessem ser estabelecidas durante as reuniões oficiais. A maioria das recomendações textuais e por desenhos técnicos foram acatadas na nova versão da norma publicada em 2024 pela ABNT, após ponderações e concordância majoritária dos participantes.
