Transformação da forma urbana paulistana

Abstract

Este artigo pretende investigar as transformações ocorridas na configuração do tecido urbano da cidade de São Paulo, Brasil, bem como a relação estabelecida pela edificação, determinada por sua implantação nos lotes resultantes do modelo de parcelamento adotado e correspondente legislação edilícia vigente em cada período. O estudo partiu da organização de uma periodização histórica e estilística tradicional, percorrendo de forma cronológica os acontecimentos políticos, economicos e sociais. Busca identificar as transformações decorrentes de cada um deles, partindo do período de colonização brasileira pelos portugueses e seus modelos de construção das cidades, passando pelos estágios de monoculturas agrárias durante o neocolonialismo e o neoclássico do Império, pré e efetiva industrialização na República do ecletismo, chegando até a instauração da República Nova, momento no qual se estabeleceram e difundiram os ideais do Movimento Moderno, nas artes e na arquitetura. Utilizou-se como área de estudo o bairro da Mooca, com sua localização estratégica e diversificação demográfica, fatores que fizeram parte integrante dos principais momentos de transformação do tecido urbano paulistano, possibilitando que dele se extraíssem exemplares remanescentes dos principais tipos identificados.
