Abstract

En esta tesis presentamos un análisis morfológico craneomandibular de 23 especies de roedores sigmodontinos y su relación con rasgos ecológicos. Comenzamos con un meta-análisis de estrategias tróficas, que permitió identificar grupos dietarios. Explorando su correspondencia con rasgos morfológicos, tomamos medidas lineales de cráneo y mandíbula y comparamos los ecomorfoespacios de cinco ensambles actuales del centro-este de Argentina. Esto resultó en una asociación entre características craneomandibulares y dieta, mientras que el grado de solapamiento entre grupos dietarios correlacionó con la productividad primaria. Para uno de esos ensambles, comparamos la ocupación del ecomorfoespacio formado por especies actuales y del Holoceno tardío, encontrando que una combinación de composición dietaria y tamaño corporal estuvo asociada con las extinciones antropogénicas locales. Finalmente, abordamos el vínculo entre vulnerabilidad a extinción, dieta y tamaño corporal a mayor escala en varias comunidades del hemisferio sur, comparando 19 comunidades de micromamíferos holocénicos y actuales, con resultados que sugieren que las extinciones recientes podrían explicarse parcialmente por la interacción entre tipo de dieta y tamaño. Esta tesis aporta al esclarecimiento de la relación entre morfología craneomandibular, aspectos tróficos y respuesta al impacto antrópico en ensambles de sigmodontinos, y ayuda a comprender esta relación en otras comunidades de micromamíferos. ; In this thesis we present a morphological analysis of 23 sigmodontine rodent species and its relation to ecological traits. We began with a meta-analysis of trophic strategies, that allowed us to identify dietary groups. To explore their correspondence with morphological traits, we took linear measurements of craniums and mandibles, and compared the ecomorphospaces of five extant assemblages of central-eastern Argentina.
