Abstract

Od XVII. do poč. XIX. st. barokne se značajke u Turopolju pojavljuju u arhitekturi (sakralnoj i profanoj) i u likovnim djelima (uglavnom sakralnim). Kao i u drugim receptivnim sredinama Srednje Europe, prihvat baroka odvija se kroz odabir dostupnih stilskih uzora i rješenja, ovisno o mogućnostima i školovanju umjetnika i potrebama naručitelja, ali i uz istodobno dugo trajanje starijih stilova: gotike (sakralna gradnja), renesanse (fortifikacija) i manirizma (ornamentika oltara).
