
Durante un estudio entomológico de la leishmaniosis realizado en La Macarena, Departamento del Meta, Colombia, se colectó un espécimen macho de Brumptomyiapintoi, el cual constituye el primer registro de la especie para el país. Este flebotomíneo fue capturado con un aspirador bucal mientras reposaba en el interior de una cueva de armadillo.
One male of Brumptomyia pintoi was collected during an entomological survey of leishmaniasis conducted in La Macarena, Department of Meta, Colombia. This is the first record of B. pintoi from this country. The sand fly was captured from an armadillo burrow with a sucking tube.
