Submitted for completion of the diploma "Licenciatura em Música" (Graduation in Music); This work presents a discussion about the trajectory of the modernist artistic movement in Brazil. Many of the advances and tendencies in the musical language began to change the direction of the Brazilian musical scene from the initiative of a small group, who were forced to propagate the music and language of their time.
