Abstract
The article explores the influence of the south-eastern British accent Estuary English (EE) on the speech of the young educated natives. There are some opinions suggesting the EE is due to replace RP, as the British youth tends to give preference to this particular accent. The acoustic and auditory analyses of the speech of the young educated English people between 18 and 39 years determined small amount of EE features that became part of their pronunciation.
