Concentration and inequalities in the financing of obras sociales after deregulation: A comparative analysis of the years 2004 and 2011

Abstract
In Argentina, during the decade of the 1990s major changes were introduced in the regulatory framework of the so called Obras Sociales Nacionales (OSN). Using data from the AFIP, the present study evaluates for the years 2004 and 2011: i) the importance of OSNs within the healthcare system, ii) the degree of concentration of this subsystem of the social security in health, iii) the inequalities in the availability of funds between the OSN and its beneficiaries.
