2 The number of disposals dropped from 23,261 private law children matters in Q1 2011 to 21,246 in Q1 2014 (Ministry of Justice, 2014). A significant drop in the applications received by Cafcass in mid 2014 suggest that the number of court applications may continue to fall, at least in the short-term.
