This article examines an ongoing experiment without a ”timplan” (app. ”time-table”) in Swedish secondary schools. The aim of this five-year experiment is, above all, to increase accountability and to create alternative and flexible ways of organizing schoolwork; time should be in the service of results and goals. The data suggests that working without fixed hours per subject, has promoted decentralization and has clear implications on teachers work. Another finding is that the frame-factors have shifted from state-level to the local school-level, and even to individual level.
