COMPOSITION AND PROPERTIES OF WOOD AND CELLULOSE FROM TROPICAL PLANTS

Abstract
The component, chemical and morphological content of wood species of the palm Howea fosteriana, the cactus Cereus Peruvians and the wood stem of the plant Dracaena Sanderiana have been studied. The crystalline structure and the physico-chemical properties of cellulose samples extracted from wood species have been investigated with wide-angle X-ray scattering, Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy, 13С nuclear magnetic resonance techniques and scanning electron microscopy.
