Contemporary mathematics teaching in early childhood education pays much attention to the problem of how to teach in order to facilitate a child located at the practical thinking level and image-motor content cognition of mathematical concepts that are abstract by nature. To achieve those objectives, in addition to teaching methods, the teacher also needs appropriate forms and means of teaching. In order to make the teaching more attractive it is good to use a variety of teaching aids, those available in stores, as well as those prepared by the children themselves. Thanks to them, students develop their activity, independence, creativity and ingenuity. The teacher acts then as the creator of time and space for child own work. This article covers all these general aspects of teaching mathematics in early childhood education.
