Description
The Molecular Basis of Fibrotic Disease in the Kidney Support is requested to hold a 2-day symposium on the Molecular Basis of Fibrotic Disease in the Kidney. This meeting will bring together experts on in vivo and in vitro aspects of connective tissue synthesis, regulation, deposition and turnover as they relate to fibrotic disease. Kidney fibrosis can result from several diseases, most notably perhaps, diabetes. As the UK, and the western world are in the midst of an "epidemic" of type II diabetes, fibrosis is, and remains a serious problem. Its molecular etiology is unclear, and it is not curable. Fibrosis leads inexorably to end-stage renal disease and kidne...
