Radio for Youth

Description

"The idea pursued with this project, ""Radio for Youth - RAYO"", is to give visibility to the reality that young people live with fewer opportunities in Latin America through radio. Thanks to this project, young people with disabilities, geographic barriers and / or belonging to minority groups will have the opportunity to explore a tool such as radio podcasts, which will allow them to express how they live the main problems that affect young people and get their opinions from them to a wide range of public, because thanks to the Internet, many barriers have disappeared in the access to information. The ultimate goal is to empower those young people with fewer opportunities by learning radio communication and the opportunities offered by new technologies, generating 10 radio pieces in which they discuss the problems that concern them the most. In addition, as it is an international project, they will be able to get in touch with young people who live in other realities and intercultural relations will be favored. Likewise, the project will generate a new methodology for youth workers (and young people themselves) to know how to use radio as a tool for empowerment in the youth field. Phases of the project: The project will be divided into five phases, to which the transnational meetings will be added (at least one initial, one final and one intermediate) and launch events of the initiative in each of the territories involved. 1.- Preparation of a study to detect which are the most worrying problems for young people in today's society and choosing the 10 most relevant ones.2.- Development of a training course on making an online podcast - online radio workshop - in which a youth worker and two young people will participate for each of the entities involved.3.- Preparation, by the groups of young people of the entities involved, of a reality analysis, through radio reports, on each of the problems detected.4.- Development of a meeting in which two young people and a leader of each of the entities involved in the project participate, in which they can debate on each of the topics established in the first phase, how was the transfer of the knowledge and the performance of radio reports.5.- Assembly of 10 podcast, one for each problem detected, including the reports made by the young people of each of the countries involved, the debate held in the meeting of phase 4 and, finally, a podcast in which Youth groups propose recommendations to improve the problems they have.Main topics: inclusion, youth, social problems, communication, radio"
