Description

The problem faced in current vocational training is the existent programs are for general purposes and only covers basic information. Another important problem about these programs is that they do not have any or sufficient experience in the trainers in the institutions providing the relevant trainings and there is no digital and soft skills competence or trainings workers and students can benefit from. Turkey have clearly seen the problem and launched job training programs. The biggest disruption in these programs is that the written sources are insufficient in terms of content and number. Our training modules will come from sectoral needs. The real problem in the Aluminium sector is that there is no skill match between industrial expectations and vocational education. Because of the lack of competence, employers have no choice but to give vocational education and training themselves. General objective of the action is:Increasing the light metal / Aluminium focused proficiencies of metal technology professional educators and students with the new industry needs-based training program supporting the curriculum. Specific objectives of the action are:•Increasing the sectoral and digital awareness of trainers and students and developing new programs in light metals sector.•Filling the vocational competence gap between Vocational Education and training providers and industry representatives.•Providing online, interactive training platform that is in line with ECVET standards and up-to-date sectoral needs.•Providing an up-to-date Toolbox platform used in aluminium industry downstream production and on-the-job observation service points for VET Scholars, trainers as well as students, blue collars and aluminium industry representatives.•Raising Awareness of VET providers, trainers, administrators, related decision-makers and Industry representatives on the learning outcomes and knowledge gap present in EuropeOverall target groups action of the action:•Metal technologies VET Teachers and trainers•Metal technologies VET Students•Blue collar workers who are actively employed under metal industry•VET Schools having metal Technologies branches•Firms operating withing metal industry lifecycle (especially downstream phase)120 Sectoral Representative from workshops, 150 VET Students and 30 VET trainers from Metal technologies for competence tests, 150 VET students from metal technology, 12 VET Trainers, 60 VET Students from metal technologies for piloting of training modules, 60 Metal industry Firms for preparation of the tool box and on-the-job observation points will be reachedProject's primary aim is to increase professional development of VET trainers on Light Metals/Aluminium downstream proceses of light metals through training modules that are aligned to national and Europen level VET and ECVET. The modules will also provide a clear understanding of the learning outcomes and worker profiles and needed competences on these subjects. Our project offers a solution-based soft skills and digital skills training modules to be uploaded to MOOC system and shared with limitless users freely and interactively.Both on-the-job observation points and toolbox will be available on an online platform. A teacher will be able to get into the toolbox check the tools and machines, when he clicks on it, it opens up the available on-point observation points (firms) that gave consent to serve as. Then the trainer will be able to take appointments online. This platform is the best example of developing a partnership to promote work-based learning in all its forms.Expected impacts of the project are:•Project will improve Vocational competences of Students in Metal Technologies•Project will improve VET competences of trainers in Metal Technologies•Project will contribute increasing awareness towards Light Metals vocational education and training absence and competence gap.•Project will contribute corporate development of participating sector representatives.•Project will improve vocational education and training quality in Europe.•Project will support a decline unemployment rates in Turkey and Europe.•Project will help decreasing Branch Changes of Vocational students.•Project will increase occupational health and safety awareness in light metals industry.
