The learning objective of the presentation is to understand FAIR principles by distinguishing between different components. By doing a practical exercise, participants will discuss which repositories are FAIR or support FAIR data. A trainer should plan 35 minutes to cover the presentation and the exercise. This material is most suitable for train-the-trainer events. Therefore, we encourage reuse and adaptation of the material to suit your specific training needs. This material is part of the FAIRsFAIR-CODATA-RDA Data Steward Training. FAIRsFAIR-CODATA-RDA Data Steward Training is part of the FAIRsFAIR Initiative (https://fairsfair.eu). The project addresses the development and concrete realisation of an overall knowledge infrastructure on academic quality data management, procedures, standards, metrics and related matters based on the FAIR principles. One of its goals is to develop and provide a series of schools in this area and hence FAIRsFAIR is partnering with the CODATA-RDA schools to deliver training along the lines described above. The goal of the training series is to equip data stewards with the foundational skills they will need to enable FAIR data practices.
