Template for Standard Operation Procedure

Abstract

High quality records, particularly for providing a string of documents for the verifiable origin of data is an essential point and acts as a certificate for potential users (customers) and the general documentation improves the traceability and transparency with the aim to prove the reliability of results. A good starting point in measures is the introduction of quality documentation of experiments which is frequently an obvious lack within the process. To generate accurate and reproducible data sets, to allow inter-laboratory comparisons as well as further and future use of research data, it is mandatory to work in line with good laboratory practices (GLP) and well-defined and validated methodologies. Hence, data are to be generated, formatted and stored according to Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and according to sophisticated Data Management Plans. In the creation and management of SOPs often arise ambiguities in detail issues and in the practical implementation. Therefore, the template provides all aspects of the documentation of a standardised workflow. If you like to learn How to set up a SOP please have a look to the paper Hollmann S, Frohme M, Endrullat C,Kremer A, D’Elia D, Regierer B, et al.
