Les oasis méditerranéennes

Sur le site de l’INSU (Institut national des sciences de l’Univers, CNRS), Les oasis méditerranéennes, 5 nov. 2020 : dans le cadre du programme Mistrals/ BioDivMex, Working-Group 2 | Insularités; Maintained by the societies of the Sahara and Arabia sometimes for millennia, the oases certainly owe their existence as much to the exchange network that exists between them as this network owes its existence to the oases. Oases are not peripheral geographical objects, but nodes of an island network that has been the architecture of great kingdoms or political organizations. One may even wonder whether the condition of exchange, even with territories beyond the desert, is not in fact the raison d'être of oases. Indeed, it structures their organization, their economy and ... also their agrobiodiversity.; Entretenues par les sociétés du Sahara et d’Arabie parfois depuis des millénaires, les oasis doivent certainement autant leur existence au réseau d’échange qui existe entre elles que ce réseau doit son existence aux oasis. Les oasis ne sont pas des objets géographiques périphériques, mais des nœuds d’un réseau insulaire qui a été l’architecture de grands royaumes ou organisations politiques. On peut même se demander si la condition de l’échange, y compris par-delà le désert, n’est pas en fait la raison d’être des oasis. Elle structure en effet leur organisation, leur économie et … également leur agrobiodiversité.
