Abstract
Mountain is not a place that can be visited easily without good preparation, because it can risk a life. More than 30% of deaths associated with the mountain is mountaineering, with the average death is 26 deaths per year time span from 2003 to 2012. Chance of dying in women during the hike is significantly smaller than males (3.5 deaths male for 1 female deaths). Alleged gender factors influence the risk perception of the mountaineering activity. This study aimed to analyze the differences of risk perception based on gender and provide recommendations in effort to prevent accidents.
