Abstract

Εισαγωγή: Μερικά από τα ερευνητικά αποτελέσματα των μέχρι τώρα επιστημονικών ερευνών για το ρόλο της Ιατρικής Κάνναβης σε ασθενείς με καρκίνο, καταδεικνύουν θετική συσχέτιση ως προς την ανακούφιση των συμπτωμάτων στους ασθενείς αυτούς. Ωστόσο, φαίνεται να υπάρχουν ακόμα δυσκολίες ως προς την συνταγογράφησή της από ιατρούς, καθώς και ασάφειες ως προς την νομοθεσία και την ακριβή της επίδραση. Σκοπός: Η παρούσα ερευνητική μελέτη έχει σκοπό να διερευνήσει τον ρόλο της Ιατρικής Κάνναβης σε ασθενείς που λαμβάνουν ανακουφιστική φροντίδα και πάσχουν από καρκίνο. Μέθοδος: Μέσα από την αναζήτηση στις ηλεκτρονικές βάσεις PubMed, Cinahl και Scopus βρέθηκαν 8 μελέτες για τα τελευταία 5 χρόνια (2015-2020), οι οποίες κρίθηκαν κατάλληλες να συμπεριληφθούν στην μελέτη αυτή. Αποτελέσματα: Η χρήση της κάνναβης συσχετίστηκε με την ανακούφιση μερικών ανεπιθύμητων συμπτωμάτων που προκύπτουν εξαιτίας του καρκίνου, παρόλα αυτά η χρήση της προκαλεί εξίσου ορισμένες παρενέργειες. Εξαιτίας, όμως, των μειωμένων πηγών παροχής πληροφόρησης των ασθενών, προκύπτει η παραπληροφόρηση επί του θέματος. Συμπεράσματα: Η βιβλιογραφία που βρέθηκε για το θέμα αυτό ήταν πολύ περιορισμένη, έτσι καλό θα ήταν να πραγματοποιηθούν περεταίρω μελέτες επί του θέματος ώστε να φανεί εάν η χρήση της κάνναβης βοηθά στην ανακούφιση των συμπτωμάτων των ασθενών που πάσχουν από καρκίνο.

Introduction: Some of the results of research to date on the role of medical cannabis in cancer patients show a positive correlation with symptom relief in these patients. However, some difficulties have appeared about medical prescription of cannabis, because of the unclear legalization and the exact impact of medical cannabis. Purpose: The present study aims to investigate the role of medical cannabis in patients in patients who receive palliative care and suffer from cancer. Method: Searching the PubMed, Cinahl and Scopus databases found 8 studies for the last 5 years (2015-2020), which were considered suitable for inclusion in this study. Results: The use of cannabis has been linked to the relief of some of the side effects of cancer, although its use has some side effects too. However, because of the reduced sources of information, there is not so much knowledge on the subject. Conclusion: The bibliography on this topic was limited, so more studies should be carried out to determine if medical cannabis helps to relief cancer symptoms.
