Abstract

Introduction: Interventions that include the application of cognitive-behavioral therapy have been shown to improve patients' adherence to treatment, as well as their quality of life (Thomas et al., 2014). Cognitive-behavioral therapy is a form of psychotherapy that aims to challenge, examine and replace a patient's negative thoughts and is considered a particularly useful type of treatment in general for patients who live with chronic illnesses and diseases and have difficulty adhering to strict therapeutic regimens. shapes, as well as in alleviating common psychological conditions, such as anxiety and depression.
